Emily's 3rd Birthday

3 years ago today our little Emily was born. She is such a blessing to me & a precious gift from God. Here are some pictures from the last 3 years, yes there are a lot of them so I don't expect people to look at all the pics :D

Week #5

I forgot to weigh myself yesterday but did manage to weigh in this morning before breakfast. I am still 196lbs. I really need to discipline myself so as not to get distracted when I should be working out. I've never been good at finding motivation for loosing weight at home but Richard & I made an agreement that if I loose 10lbs at home then we will get a gym membership. That is more so we both know that I have the will & want to loose the weight. Unfortunately I have plenty of WANT & not enough WILL. It would just be easier if the weight/fat would just melt off me but I know that is NOT going to happen.

Workout Log

Well, I only managed 22 Wii Fit minutes today but still had a very good workout. 3 yoga stretches, 3 balancing games, 4 aerobics. No strength today because my legs were already getting sore & I didn't want to over do it. I also took the kids for a 45min walk around the neighborhood.

'Defence of Fort McHenry'

Otherwise known as 'The Star-Spangled Banner'. Was originally written as a poem by Frances Scott Key in 1814. This is the whole poem.

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust.'
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Daily Workout Log

I've decided that I'm going to do a daily workout log{except Sunday} as well as a weekly weight-loss journal due to the fact that I hardly workout during the week but then I hope to have some weight loss by the next Fri. However this last week has proven what I already knew & that is that you have to actually workout somehow in order to loose the weight. Hmm.. how about that.

Today I spent 30min{Wii min, so more like 45min} on the Wii Fit & 2min running on the Treadmill. I was planning on no less than 5min on the treadmill but I think it might be broken so I'll have Richard take a look at it later. I know that 30min on Wii Fit doesn't sound like a lot but I was still short of breath & my legs were wobbly from it, so I guess I'm doing something right.

Have you?

I wonder if anyone has gone to the grocery store, put banana's in the scale thingy then forgot to put them in your cart & left the store without the banana's? I did. Emily asked me for a banana cause she saw me grab them but I couldn't find them. I even went out to the car to check the trunk, but quickly realized that I never took the yummy banana's from the scale. Oh well, guess I'll be grabbing some when I go to the store to get more milk.

Week #4

Well bad news for my body. Not only did I NOT lose weight this last week but I also gained 3lbs. Which is more than I lost. So my weight is now 196lbs. Logging off here & going to the treadmill right now.

Food for thought!

Cell Phone VS. Bible

Ever wonder what would happen if:

We treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go.....hmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing.

Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected

because Jesus already paid the bill.

Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls!
